Licensing
Requirements For In-State Applicants:
The educational requirements are outlined in the Administrative
Code 4757-25-01. This rule defines the requirements of a marriage
and family therapy degree, or other degree that totals 60 semester
or 90 quarter hours, that meet standards that are equivalent to a
graduate degree in marriage and family therapy. COAMFTE accredited
programs meet the requirement.
Instructions
Step
1:
The applicant will be required to fill out the Request for Application
form to take the examination, submit transcripts and the Educational
Requirements Worksheet, if applicable. MFT

2:
Upon approval to take the examination, the board will provide
the testing packet and license application materials.
Step
3:
Upon passing the examination, the applicant will complete a Criminal
Background Check and submit a completed licensure application.
Once all materials have been received, the applicant's file will
go before the Board at the next scheduled meeting. The Board meets
every other month beginning in January.
